As a therapist, I work with individuals, families, and couples who feel stuck in recurrent behavioral patterns, whose lives feel governed by past hurts or emotional injuries, and who struggle with flashbacks from childhood trauma or abuse which still affect their present-day life.
Psychotherapy helps in promoting overall mental wellness and therefore, a diagnosis of mental illness is not the only reason to seek therapy. The need for clarity about feelings, thoughts, and emotional management, can all be greatly helped with psychotherapy.
Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Mindfulness-based approach, and Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP), I practice from a trauma-informed perspective collaborating with clients to shift from coping with symptoms to healing their inner wounds and progressing in their personal growth.
I approach my work from a place of respect for each client's lived experience, their distinct strengths and challenges, and the influence of life experiences on personal development. I also know that once safe environments have been established, supportive relationships enable us to heal from previous wounds. I provide services in English, Hindi, Urdu, and Punjabi.
